Since the beginning of the 21st century, the Earth's greenhouse effect has led to frequent extreme weather changes, presenting humanity with increasingly urgent challenges. In order to decrease reliance on traditional fossil fuels and mitigate the impact of carbon emissions on climate temperatures, the 2016 Paris Climate Agreement aims to limit global temperature rise to within 1.5 degrees Celsius above pre-industrial levels. Since then, driving towards a "zero" carbon energy transition with green energy at its core has emerged as one of the most significant societal transformations of the 21st century.


The widespread utilization of "zero-carbon green electricity" is hindered by its "intermittent" nature, stemming from weather changes, which introduces significant uncertainty into the power grid and the entire energy generation system. With the widespread adoption of electric vehicles, it is projected that 25%-30% of electricity will be stored in the battery systems of these vehicles in the future. By 2050, their energy storage capacity is estimated to reach 8,524 TWh (equivalent to the combined power demand of China and India in 2018). However, the endurance and safety of batteries remain the primary obstacles to the complete replacement of internal combustion engine vehicles by electric vehicles. To further increase the share of green energy and promote the widespread adoption of electric vehicles, society urgently requires efficient and safe energy storage system solutions.

Hytzer Energy Co., Ltd. inherits its technology from the research team led by Cui Guanglei at the Qingdao Institute of Bioenergy and Process Research, Chinese Academy of Sciences (QIBPR). With 17 years of dedicated work in solid-state batteries, the team has achieved an international breakthrough by pioneering the development of a novel solid-state battery electrolyte material and process, characterized by its coupling of hardness with softness and in-situ curing. To date, they have successfully developed four generations of solid-state battery systems with varying energy densities. They have also established the world's first large-scale pilot production line for polymer all-solid-state batteries. These batteries have undergone rigorous long-term reliability testing in deep sea, deep space, large-scale energy storage, and new energy vehicle applications.

At the Max Planck Institute for Polymer Research in Germany,

2012

Under the leadership of Chief Scientist Cui Guanglei, the QingDao Institute of Bioenergy And Bioprocess Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, has establishedthe first large-scale lithium battery test production line. Simultaneously, it has actively embarked on exploring the scale production and process system of solid-state lithium batteries.

2015

The internationally original research on "Hardness with Softness" solid polymer electrolytes has been granted national patent authorization

and applied for PCT international patents. It has now received European authorization, covering key countries such as the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Japan, and the United States

2016

The QingDao Institute of Bioenergy And Bioprocess Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences has completed the construction of a polymer solid-state lithium battery production line with an annual capacity of 200MWh

2017

Solid-state lithium batteries were taken to the Mariana Trench

to provide power for the "Wanquan" lander

at its maximum working depth of10,901 meters, successfully completing the full deep-sea demonstration application

2018

  • The high-performance solid-state battery system returned to the Mariana Trench

  • Providing energy power for the "Tianya," "Haijiao," and other full-depth landers

  • A total of 34 operations were completed

  • With a maximum dive depth of10,918 meters

  • The longest single dive operation lasted26 days, setting a world record for the longest continuous operation


2019

The low-power, long-endurance solid-state battery system

conducted a continuous deep-sea demonstration operation for198 days

laying the technical foundation for long-duration deep-sea power supply

2020

The high-energy-density solid-state lithium battery system for all-ocean-depthsprovided full power for the "Canghai" video lander

and high-power, long-endurance energy for the "Luling" multi-site lander.

2021

  • The newsolid-state lithium batteryhas completed the national key research and development program

The delivery of a 1MWh deep-sea energy storage base station has been completed
